Buzzard

Police are investigating the poisoning of two buzzards in the Chittlehampton area of North Devon.

Although the birds were found in April, subsequent forensic testing has confirmed that the cause of death was poisoning.

Officers have now issued an appeal to the public for information.

It has been reported that Dave Knight, wildlife crime officer said, “The persecution of birds of prey is one of the national wildlife crime priorities.

“Sadly, the persecution of these birds still occurs and the manner of their poisoning is indiscriminate with potential lethal consequences for companion animals.”
